CURSO DE PORTUGUÊS PARA INICIANTES – PT-101 – Brazilian Portuguese for beginners – PT-101

Objetivo/Goal:

Aprender o básico do vocabulário e gramática necessários para participar em eventos sociais e manter breves conversas sobre tópicos familiares, tais como: apresentar-se a outras pessoas, fazer e receber convites, fazer pedidos em restaurantes, etc. Familiarizar-se um pouco mais sobre padrões culturais brasilieiros no que diz respeito a pequenos eventos sociais.

Learn the basics of grammar and vocabulary needed to participate in social events and to maintain brief conversations.

Topics include: 

  • how to greet and make introductions; 
  • how to send and receive invitations; 
  • how to order in restaurants; etc.  

By learning these basics, students will become familiar with Brazilian culture and communication in informal settings.

CURSO DE PORTUGUÊS INTERMEDIÁRIO/PRÉ-AVANÇADO – PT-104 – Brazilian Portuguese for intermediate level/pre-advanced students – PT-104

Objetivo/Goal:

Para quem já fala português em conversas básicas e quer aperfeiçoar ainda mais a comunicação oral, leitura e escrita. História e cultura brasileiras serão tópicos incluídos no curso.

For those of you who are already basic Portuguese speakers and want to improve oral, writing and reading skills, history and cultural aspects are also part of this class.

  • Local/Where: 1367 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22101 (ABRACE’s school installations at McLean Baptist Church)
  • Horário/When: Aos sabados, das 10h10 as 11h55 on Saturdays, 10:10 to 11:55am

Período/Sessions:

  • 12 semanas de aula. Início: 17/setembro a 17/dezembro (não haverá aula nos dias 29 de outubro e 26 de novembro).
  • 12 week. Start date: Sept 17. End date: Dec 17. No classes on October 29 and November 26 (Thanksgiving). Trial class on the first day, Sept 17h.

Matrícula/Registration

Cost of U$240, for 12 weeks, to be paid in full by the first or second week of class. The text book is not included.
