ABRACE is a nonprofit organization that works to strengthen the Brazilian community in the United States through the preservation of our culture and language. In 2020, we are commemorating a milestone, our 15th anniversary, while at the same time, we are facing unprecedented financial challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. We need to raise $15,000 by December 31st. Please donate!
We offer Portuguese as a heritage language classes to children and grandchildren of Brazilian immigrants. They meet virtually every Saturday to experience their family’s culture and traditions and to cultivate their pride in being Brazilian-American citizens.
Throughout our 15 years, we have served more than 1,000 families in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia with classes, cultural fairs, story time for babies, literary picnics, youth volunteer program, a mobile library with more than 1,500 books — and so much more. We are the only organization in our region to offer all of these community outreach programs to the Brazilian community in one single place.
ABRACE is a community association that is only possible thanks to the dedication and support of a growing community of caring people. We are now faced with a new major challenge that may put our legacy at risk. Please donate and help ABRACE to maintain its success story for the next 15 years.
Thank you for your generosity and Happy Holidays!
